Poonthalir Nursery for Biodiversity is dedicated to conserving and restoring native ecosystems through the cultivation of endemic, indigenous, and endangered plant species. Our nursery produces high-quality saplings that support ecological restoration, improve green cover, and strengthen biodiversity across landscapes.
We cultivate plant species that provide food and habitat for essential pollinators such as birds, bees, butterflies, and bats, helping maintain healthy ecosystems. We also promote the establishment of bio-fences using native hedge species in farmlands to enhance biodiversity, improve soil health, and create natural barriers.
As part of our conservation efforts, Arulagam specializes in the rejuvenation of seven over-exploited native plant species, contributing to their long-term survival and sustainable use. Every year, our nursery produces over 2.5 lakh saplings representing 65 native and ecologically significant plant varieties, supporting restoration initiatives, community greening programs, and sustainable agriculture across South India.
