On the occasion of World Environment Day, a tree planting programme was organised by the Forest Department in Hallimoyar village of Thengumarahada Panchayat, which falls under the Mudumalai Tiger Reserve.
Mr. Melkis Joseph, Joint Secretary of Arulagam, and Mr. Namasivayam participated in the programme as special guests. Students and teachers of the Hallimoyar Tribal Residential School, along with Forest Department staff, participated in the event.
The programme highlighted the need to protect the environment, promote the sustainable use of natural resources, and recognize the vital role that vultures play in maintaining ecological balance.
In addition, awareness sessions were conducted for the public on health, the conservation of natural resources, and the importance of vultures.
உலக சுற்றுச்சூழல் தினத்தை முன்னிட்டு, முதுமலை புலிகள் காப்பகத்திற்கு உட்பட்ட தெங்குமரஹடா ஊராட்சியின் அல்லிமாயாறு கிராமத்தில் வனத்துறையினரின் சார்பில் மரக்கன்று நடும் நிகழ்ச்சி நடைபெற்றது.

மேலும், பொதுமக்களிடையே சுகாதாரம், இயற்கை வளங்களின் பாதுகாப்பு மற்றும் பாறுக் கழுகுகளின் முக்கியத்துவம் குறித்து விழிப்புணர்வு வழங்கப்பட்டது. சுற்றுச்சூழலைப் பாதுகாப்பதன் அவசியம், இயற்கை வளங்களை நிலையான முறையில் பயன்படுத்துதல் மற்றும் பாறுக் கழுகுகள் சுற்றுச்சூழல் சமநிலையைப் பேணுவதில் வகிக்கும் முக்கிய பங்கு குறித்து எடுத்துரைக்கப்பட்டது.
