He explained its critical ecological functions, the threats it faces, and encouraged students to plant native saplings not only on campus but also on the nearby dunes and other vulnerable areas.

Student Oath and Tree Plantation

Following the awareness sessions, the students took a collective oath, pledging to protect their region's sand dunes, native habitats, and overall biodiversity. This pledge underscored their commitment to becoming active stewards of the local environment.

The programme culminated in a hands-on tree plantation drive. The school's Headmaster formally inaugurated the planting, after which 200 enthusiastic students from the 7th, 8th, and 9th standards began greening the campus.

The saplings for the drive were supplied by Arulagam’s Neythal Nursery in Kunthukkal. These native coastal species were carefully selected to support the local ecology and improve green cover around the school.

The event was a success due to the active support and collaboration between the Arulagam team and the school. Special thanks are extended to the Headmaster, the school's event coordinator, Mr. Jerom, and other dedicated staff members who were instrumental in the planning and execution of the programme.
